The trailer launch of Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata turned into more than just a film promotion event when actor and filmmaker Kangana Ranaut shared a story about an unexpected act of generosity from fellow actor John Abraham. While discussing the making of the film, Kangana revealed that John helped the project in a significant way.The upcoming film is based on the courage shown by the nurses and hospital staff of Mumbai's Cama Hospital during the 26/11 terror attacks. According to Kangana, the film's title was not part of the original plan and came into the picture only after the project had evolved further. From 'Nurses of Cama' to 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata'As per NDTV, speaking at the trailer launch, Kangana said the film was initially called Nurses of Cama, a title directly linked to the real-life events that inspired the story. However, as the makers developed the film, they felt the title needed to reflect a larger idea and the spirit of the people whose actions form the heart of the narrative. She recalled, "The film was previously called 'Nurses of Cama'. We wanted to change it to 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata'. When we thought about this title, we realised it was already registered. But when we requested John Abraham, who had the title, he gave it to us within a day. Usually, people don't give up titles, but he did, without even charging us for it. So, I am very grateful to him."Kangana's remarks drew attention because title registrations in the film industry are often considered valuable assets and are not usually transferred without negotiations. Why the title mattered to the makersKangana explained that the decision to rename the film was not just a creative change. According to her, the title Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata better represents the idea of ordinary citizens stepping up during extraordinary situations. She also shared that the phrase was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's description of India's working class as the "makers of the country's destiny." The sentiment, she said, resonated strongly with the team while shaping the film.At another point during the event, Kangana spoke about the larger message behind the story and the people it celebrates. She said, "So many of us make the mistake of underestimating the power of ordinary people capable of extraordinary courage. The trailer touches upon a truth that while medical training can be taught, bravery cannot. The will to stand your ground in the face of fear, the instinct to serve humanity, and the grit to honour the oath nurses take… all of that comes from within."A story based on courage during 26/11Directed by Manoj Tapadia, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata focuses on a lesser-known chapter of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The film tells the story of the nurses, ward boys and other hospital staff at Cama Hospital who continued performing their duties while the city was under attack. The narrative highlights how the hospital team helped protect and save nearly 400 people during the crisis, often putting their own lives at risk. Through their actions, the film aims to shine a light on individuals whose contributions have not always received the same attention as other stories linked to the attacks.Apart from Kangana Ranaut, the film also stars Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, Amrutha Namdev, Esha Dey, Priya Berde, Asha Shelar, Suhita Thatte, Rasika Aghase, Aditya Mishra and Zahid Khan. Presented by PEN Studios and backed by multiple production houses, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is scheduled to release in theatres on June 12, 2026.
