MANILA, Philippines – The construction of major farm-to-market road (FMR) projects nationwide will commence in August after the Department of Agriculture (DA) initiates the bidding process for this undertaking.
Under the 2026 General Appropriations Act, the DA received a budget allocation of P33 billion to develop 1,605 FMR projects across the archipelago.

Agriculture Assistant Secretary and Spokesperson Arnel de Mesa said these include an FMR network covering a coffee plantation area in Sultan Kudarat. It can cost approximately between P1.5 billion and P2 billion since it covers large-scale food hubs and cold storage facilities.
