R&B legend Peabo Bryson has passed away at the age of 75.
A giant in the music world has fallen. R&B superstar Peabo Bryson, whose immaculate career spanned decades and shaped the sound of the genre, died on Tuesday, June 2, at the age of 75.
The Grammy-winning singer, renowned for timeless hits such as “If Ever You’re in My Arms Again” and “A Whole New World”, reportedly passed away peacefully after suffering a stroke days earlier, surrounded by family and loved ones.
The beloved vocalist’s passing has prompted an outpouring of grief from fans around the world, many of whom grew up with his music woven into the fabric of family life.
Bryson’s hit songs were the soundtracks of some of my fondest childhood memories. From his romantic ballads blasting through the house while my parents prepared Sunday lunch to family gatherings where my cousins and I made some of our biggest memories while his music played in the background. These hits played at braais, weddings and parties and were always present on playlists, particularly during celebrations.
