An Until Dawn sequel was announced during PlayStation's State of Play livestream on Tuesday, featuring a brand new cast of characters facing gruesome, bloody, entirely preventable deaths.

Until Dawn 2 follows a group of ghost-hunting influencers who stage their content. After signing up with a TV network, the crew travel to an abandoned tropical island to film the first episode of their new series. However, they soon discover that this time the threat is real, and the decisions they make will be the difference between life and death. While the original 2015 game was developed by Supermassive Games, its sequel will be made by Firesprite Games. This studio has primarily focused on VR games in the past, releasing sci-fi horror The Persistence and co-developing Horizon: Call of the Mountain.
