BBC Radio 2 host and former Strictly Come Dancing star Zoe Ball opened up about a major change at home after revealing her daughter Nelly has moved in with her dad11:52, 03 Jun 2026Updated 11:53, 03 Jun 2026Zoe Ball said she is "bereft" after saying goodbye to a close family friend who has looked after her daughter for many years. Catching up with Jo Whiley on their Dig It podcast, the 52-year-old revealed she had recently enjoyed a spa day with her "two wing women" Emma and Adele.‌Reflecting on the day, she said she and her loved ones were "bereft" as Adele moves on to "pastures new" following years of providing help for the family.‌She explained: "Adele has looked after Nel for us so that Norm and I could work, she's looked after all of us to be honest with you, and she's leaving because Nel is obviously now going to be finishing her GCSEs and Adele is going to pastures new and we are all bereft.‌"To just make a fuss of her, we went to South Lodge, they're my two wing women, I just couldn't do life without them."Zoe shares daughter Nelly, 16, and son Woody, 25, with her ex-husband Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim. The couple, who divorced in 2016, remain friends and have stayed living close together.‌In a recent episode of the podcast, the BBC Radio 2 star revealed that Nel had made the decision to move in with her dad. Speaking of her household become considerably quieter, she told listeners: "Mine's so quiet, it's like ugh! It's less and less because Nel is based more at her dad's now because I think she's got to that point of, 'Ah can I just be in one place?'."All of her revision notes are on the wall at her dads and it's just [nice] not having to move from house to house, so she's just spending more time there now."The transition, Zoe added, has thankfully been simplified by the fact Norman lives close by.‌"It's great because it's only around the corner and I can nip round at any time, which is great, and she can come here if she gets upset about anything like, 'Mum, I need you' but it's less and less."Zoe is thought to now just be in her home with her partner, Mat Weekes, who she refers to as "the lodger" on her podcast. The couple were pictured in public together for the first time back in January, though are thought to have been secretly dating for longer.Article continues belowA source at the time told The Sun: "Zoe has had a turbulent couple of years and it’s been one of the hardest times of her life.“But she still believes in love and Mat has been a real source of strength for her.“He has become so important to her and they are completely in love. She feels very understood and safe with Mat and her friends love him."
