As DK Shivakumar is all set to be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka, businessline has learnt that 13 ministers will be sworn in alongside him.
According to sources, senior Dalit leader G Parameshwara is set to be appointed Deputy Chief Minister.After the race for the Chief Minister's post, the contest over the Deputy Chief Minister's position drew significant attention. The Congress leadership and the incoming Chief Minister faced the challenging task of maintaining the caste and regional balance, while finalising the Cabinet.Meanwhile, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Tuesday appointed Karnataka's outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as a member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), ahead of Shivakumar's swearing-in.Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, the Chief Minister-designate also met former Prime Minister and JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda, as well as senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa, at their residences.Published on June 3, 2026
