TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, at his private residence in Hambalang, West Java, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. According to the Presidential Secretariat, Minister Fidan's official visit to the country was made at Prabowo's invitation.Fidan's presence is part of ongoing efforts by both nations to strengthen bilateral communication and diplomatic coordination amid rapidly shifting regional and global dynamics.During the meeting, the Head of State specifically expressed his deep appreciation to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoan and his government for their vital support and cooperation in the successful repatriation process of nine Indonesian citizens, who were part of the humanitarian mission of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0."President Prabowo considers Turkey's support in the humanitarian mission as a reflection of the deep-rooted friendship between the two countries, while also demonstrating a joint commitment to upholding humanitarian values and international solidarity," the Presidential Secretariat stated.In addition, Prabowo and Fidan exchanged views on the volatile situation unfolding across the Middle East.
