After a successful second round last year, the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi’s (ACPK) flagship World Culture Festival is set to return in October. Organisers are calling for submissions for the event’s film segment on Tuesday.
In an Instagram post shared by the festival, the ACPK and its president, Ahmed Shah, it was announced that filmmakers from around the world were invited to submit their work for consideration to be displayed at the festival.
The post said submissions were live on Freeway and a variety of categories were welcome, including documentaries, narratives and short films.
The World Culture Festival will take place at the Arts Council from October 29 to November 22 and is expected to feature over 1,000 artists representing over 140 different countries.
Films aren’t the only thing on display at the festival, which has had strong theatre and music segments over its previous two runs. Dance and visual arts also form part of the festivities with exhibitions, performances and workshops.
