Russian air defences downed 50 drones over the Leningrad region as the St Petersburg economic forum opened, with combat operations ongoing, the governor said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukrainian forces struck the Petersburg Oil Terminal and “purely military targets” at the Kronstadt naval base.
Pulkovo Airport was closed for hours, causing at least 14 flight cancellations and 18 delayed departures following a morning drone attack, Kommersant reported.
The forum hosts officials from 76 countries, including Uzbekistan’s Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Tanzania’s Samia Suluhu Hassan, with Saudi Arabia as the guest country.
