Organized crime investigators from the so-called Greek FBI have arrested 13 people in connection with an alleged scheme to fraudulently obtain European Union agricultural subsidies.
The arrests were carried out in Kozani and Agrinio as part of an investigation into suspected subsidy fraud totaling more than €2.5 million.
Among those arrested are the manager and an employee of a Declaration Reception Center (KYD), where applications for farm subsidies were submitted.
The specific case involves a total of 39 suspects accused of participating in the scheme.
