Peabo Bryson, the Grammy-winning R&B singer whose powerful ballads became synonymous with Disney favorites such as "Beauty and the Beast" and "A Whole New World," has died. He was 75.
His family announced the news in a statement released by Variety, sharing that the singer passed away on June 2 while surrounded by loved ones. Bryson had previously suffered a stroke, though no official cause of death was disclosed.
“With broken hearts and profound sadness, the family of two-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and balladeer, Peabo Bryson, announces his passing,” the statement read.
