Having previously shied away from any formal confirmations, Subaru’s local operations have announced that it will soon bring the new Trailseeker Touring electric crossover to local showrooms, with arrival scheduled for this coming September.
Jerry Delaney, general manager of local Subaru distributor Inchcape New Zealand, said in a press release that the Trailseeker represents a compelling mix of traditional Subaru all-wheel drive capability and low-emissions EV performance.
Local pricing and spec has yet to be confirmed.
“[The Trailseeker is] the ideal Subaru for Kiwi drivers seeking adventure and for those who want to enjoy an engaging performance drive, all while remaining grounded in the confidence, safety and All-Wheel Drive capability that underpins Subaru’s DNA,” said Delaney.
“After we sold out of Solterra in New Zealand, we have been eagerly awaiting a new EV Subaru model here and the Trailseeker is a fantastic option. It delivers electric performance without compromising on confidence, control or real-world capability – the qualities our customers expect from a Subaru.”
