Their message comes after Vickrum Digwa, 23, was given a life sentence with a minimum of 21 years in jail for fatally stabbing him on December 3, 2025.Many figures on the UK and international far right have seized upon the outrage following Henry's death. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage waded into the debate before declaring "the rights of white people matter less than ethnic minorities" in "two-tier Britain."A protest against police turned violent on Tuesday night near where Henry died in Southampton, which sparked Stand up to Racism's statement."We send our deepest condolences to the family of Henry Nowak," the message posted to Instagram said. "No family should have to experience the loss of a son. The bodycam footage and the failures of the police are shocking and tragic."But we are alarmed that known fascists and far right activists are trying to seize on this horrific killing and weaponise it to spread their message of hate. In Southampton, neo Nazi sect White Vanguard called a protest purporting to be remembering Henry Nowak. Britain’s leading fascist Tommy Robinson has said he will be attending future protests and Elon Musk is using X to spread misinformation."Nigel Farage has called for “pure cold rage” in response. Farage is cynically using a tragic death to fuel his divisive agenda and win votes. None of these far right figures offer anything to the family of Henry Nowak, nor are they interested in justice."They are using a tragic murder for their own ends - to divide our communities and to spread their racism, hate and far right ideas. Don’t let the far right divide us."Content cannot be displayed without consentMore than 1,000 demonstrators arrived to protest against the cops involved in Henry's arrest and arrived at Southampton Central Police station this evening. Many protesters chanted Henry's name with others shouting "racist police, off our streets, racist police, off our streets" during the march, which began as a peaceful protest.Rone Christian, who is a dad, joined the group. He said: "The only thing they care about is themselves. Nothing changes. I stand with Henry's family. I just can't imagine if something like that happened to my son. I don't think the situation in the country is pretty and I question how any government can fix it."Article continues belowBut the message of honouring Henry's memory became lost with many demonstrators who soon pelted police with missiles close to where the teenager was killed. Chairs, cans and flares were thrown at police who had donned riot gear.Officers were eventually forced to flee from the line they had been holding. Police holding riot shield also clashed with protesters close to the same site.A police helicopter flew overhead as officers were attacked with stones on a residential street in the St Denys area of Southampton before they were charged with shields in an attempt to push the crowd back.Choose Daily Mirror as a 'Preferred Source' on Google News for quick access to the news you value.MurderRacismSouthamptonProtests
