But the PDP said the reaction from the minister and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) reflected growing anxiety over what it described as increasing public support for Jonathan's return to power.

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki has attacked the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, saying that he has no moral authority to advise former President Goodluck Jonathan over the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the opposition party accused Keyamo of meddling in its internal affairs following his comments on the PDP's affirmation of Jonathan as its candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

Keyamo, while reacting to Jonathan’s emergency as PDP’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, had said, “This is some kind of bizarre comedy taken too far by supposedly grown adults and some names that were actually in the corridors of power at some point in this country.

“Giving a whole Presidential ticket to an ex-President and statesman by proxy and by a bunch of people not even registered on INEC’s website.
