Armed bandits, on Monday night, invaded a mosque in Unguwan Namama village, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing one worshipper and abducting several others during evening prayers.

The attack, which occurred at about 8 p.m., also left a number of worshippers injured. Victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, while the exact number of those abducted and wounded could not be confirmed as of press time.

The deceased was identified as Adamu Ibraheem.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers stormed the mosque while prayers were ongoing and opened fire on worshippers, causing panic and confusion among residents.

According to community sources, the gunmen laid siege to the area before launching the assault, ambushing worshippers and residents during the evening prayer session. The attackers reportedly continued shooting as people attempted to flee for safety.
