Raila Odinga's longtime bodyguard, Maurice Ogeta, has revealed the level of trust the former Prime Minister placed in him, disclosing that he was consulted during discussions that led to Gor Mahia receiving Sh30 million when the club was grappling with financial difficulties.

Speaking during Gor Mahia's visit to the Odinga family home, Ogeta recalled how Raila often sought his views on matters concerning the club because of his deep attachment to K'Ogalo.

"I think the patron really trusted me with anything to do with Gor Mahia. Many people may not know that when the club was facing challenges, he asked me what amount I thought would be sufficient to help. I believe those who met him at Nairobi Club proposed Sh30 million. He later asked for my opinion, and I supported it because he knew how much Gor Mahia meant to me," Ogeta said.
