It, however, reassured Nigerians that there is no confirmed case of Ebola Virus Disease in the country.
The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Nigeria says it has intensified national preparedness and response measures to guard against the possible introduction of the Bundibugyo ebolavirus disease (BEBOV), following reported cases in parts of East and Central Africa.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja and signed by Assistant Director of Press and Public Relations, Ado Bako, the Ministry said it is strengthening surveillance systems and border health protocols nationwide.
It, however, reassured Nigerians that there is no confirmed case of Ebola Virus Disease in the country.
“The Ministry wishes to reassure Nigerians that there is presently no confirmed case of Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria,” the statement said.
