A coalition of Yoruba groups under the umbrella of the Alliance for Yoruba Democratic Movements (AYDM) has accused South-West governors of lacking both the capacity and commitment to address what it described as the growing threat of terrorism across the region.

The group made the allegation in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its General Secretary, Popoola Ajayi, following the recent abduction of teachers and students from Community High School, Isiele, in Oyo State.

According to the coalition, the security crisis facing the South-West has gone beyond ordinary criminality.

“What is facing Yorubaland is no longer crime or terror, but a declaration of war by non-state actors,” the statement said.
