Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti has appealed to the public to cooperate with the district administration during the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, which is being conducted to ensure an error-free voter list.Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Mr. Kavalikatti stated that a primary objective of the intensive revision is to ensure that no eligible voter is left out. He added that the Election Commission has also sought the active cooperation of all political parties, urging them to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for every polling station.The Deputy Commissioner assured that the administration has completed all the necessary arrangements for the extensive drive. Training programmes for the personnel deployed for the exercise will be held between June 20 and June 29, followed by a month-long door-to-door verification campaign from June 30 to July 29.The administration has appointed 1,793 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to verify the details for the district’s 15,26,829 voters. During their field visits, the BLOs will reconcile differences between the 2002 and 2025 voter lists and collect updated information. They will distribute two copies of the enumeration form; residents must fill out and return one copy to the officers, who will sign and return the second copy as an acknowledgement.The draft electoral roll would be published on August 5, and the public would get time up to September 4 to file objections.
