Near the end of the regular season, a series between the Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks seemed inevitable. I did not like the Raptors’ chances in that series, and would have picked the Knicks to win in four or five games. Then Boston’s Luka Garza intervened, and we got Raptors-Cavaliers instead.
If the Raptors had faced the Knicks and been summarily dispatched, at least they would have been in good company. The Knicks look like a buzzsaw as they head into the NBA Finals. Meanwhile, we’re approaching a month since the Cavs needed seven games to shake the banged-up Raptors.
