The event was organised by Freedom 250, an organisation launched by Donald Trump and headed by his State Department appointee, Keith Krach. Initially, performers such as Bret Michaels, The Commodores, Martina McBride, Morris Day, and Young MC were announced for the event. However, these artists subsequently withdrew, stating they were misled about the event's nonpartisan nature or found it had become divisive. As of Friday morning, Flo Rida and Vanilla Ice were still expected to perform, while Freedom 250 organisers have not commented on the withdrawals.
