Family members of the custodial death victim Ajith Kumar alleged that Madurai police visited their house early in the morning for enquiry.Ajith Kumar, a watchman at the Madappuram temple near Thirupuvanam in Sivaganga district, died after being assaulted by a special team of police.This case was investigated by the CBI. The trial of this case is currently under way in a Madurai court.To prevent any threat, police protection has been deployed at the house where Ajith Kumar’s mother Malathi and brother Naveen Kumar reside.CCTV cameras have also been installed there. Under such circumstances, at 2:45 AM on Tuesday, three individuals went to Ajithkumar’s house.They told Malathi and Naveen Kumar, who were at the house, that they had come from the Madurai Karuppayurani Police Station for a case investigation and then left.This raised suspicion among Ajith Kumar’s family members.While this incident became controversial, it was stated on behalf of the police that those who came for the investigation were indeed Madurai police, and that they had mistakenly arrived at the wrong house for a case investigation.
