The Telangana Prisons and Correctional Services Department on Tuesday released 91 life convicts who were granted special remission by the State government, while also extending employment and rehabilitation support to facilitate their reintegration into society.The released inmates include 85 men and six women who were found eligible for remission under government guidelines.As part of the rehabilitation programme, 38 of the released prisoners have been offered employment at fuel retail outlets operated by the Prisons Department. Officials said the initiative is intended to provide immediate livelihood support and help former inmates transition smoothly into mainstream society.The remaining 53 released prisoners have indicated their intention to pursue self-employment, agriculture, family businesses and other occupations after their release.
