Anthropic is expanding Project Glasswing, its restricted cybersecurity AI partnership, from roughly 50 organizations to approximately 200, the company said Tuesday.
Through the expansion, access to Claude Mythos Preview — Anthropic's model for identifying software vulnerabilities in codebases — will be granted to around 150 additional organizations, all of which must clear security requirements before joining. Participating organizations now span more than 15 countries, with Anthropic signaling plans to broaden that geographic footprint going forward.
Sectors underrepresented when the program first launched — among them energy, water utilities, healthcare, communications infrastructure, and hardware — are a focus of the new wave of partners. Many of the new partners are vendors — companies or nonprofits that maintain codebases relied upon by other organizations, including governments. Anthropic estimated that a major attack on a typical partner's systems could affect more than 100 million people.
Collectively, program participants have surfaced upward of 10,000 vulnerabilities rated high or critical in severity since April, according to Anthropic. Anthropic said it collaborated with existing Glasswing partners, the security industry, open-source software maintainers, and the U.S. government in preparing the expansion.
