Samarkand--- The Environment Authority participated in the opening of the "Eco Expo Central Asia 2026" exhibition, hosted by the city of Samarkand in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The exhibition showcases the latest innovative environmental initiatives and technologies and runs until 4 June.The delegation was represented by Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority. The exhibition, which saw wide participation from ministers, officials, experts, and representatives of international and regional organizations concerned with environmental, climate, and sustainable development affairs, is one of the most prominent environmental events in the Central Asian region. It aims to enhance international cooperation and exchange expertise and experiences in the fields of environmental protection, climate change adaptation, natural resources management, and financing green growth projects.The exhibition's activities included a high-level working session titled "Financing Green Growth," in which the Chairman of the Environment Authority participated. The session discussed ways to enhance environmental investments and develop sustainable financing mechanisms to support initiatives and projects aimed at achieving low-carbon development and strengthening the capacity to confront environmental and climate challenges.The participation in the exhibition comes within the framework of the Sultanate of Oman's keenness to enhance its presence in international environmental forums, and expand the fields of cooperation and partnership with countries and organizations concerned with environmental affairs, contributing to supporting national efforts to achieve environmental sustainability targets and Oman Vision 2040.The exhibition's activities include holding a number of panel discussions and accompanying events addressing issues of biodiversity, water resources management, environmental education, green economy, and sustainable local solutions, with the participation of specialized international and regional organizations.
