MANILA, Philippines — Senate president Alan Peter Cayetano on Tuesday shot back at Sen. Raffy Tulfo’s dare to show up at Wednesday’s session by turning his challenge around and urging the latter senator to prove his “independence” if he is not, as he put it, a coward.

In another Facebook live, Cayetano directly addressed Tulfo’s challenge, comparing it to a farmer being told to plant crops when there’s a thunderstorm, or soldier ordered to go on a suicide mission.

“Ang kaduwagan po ay nag-uugat ‘yan sa ano ba ang purpose at trabaho mo [Cowardice stems from what your purpose and job actually are],” said Cayetano.
