Rolls-Royce has given its all-electric Spectre the Series II treatment, bringing more range, faster charging, extra power and, this being a Rolls-Royce, even more ways to personalise the most exclusive of all EVs.The big news for the electric super-coupé is that Rolls-Royce has reworked the battery technology to boost the official range by 18 per cent to 390 miles. Charging times are down by a claimed 14 per cent, although Rolls-Royce has not yet given exact details. There is more oomph, too. The standard Spectre Series II now produces 593 bhp, while torque rises to 1,015 Nm. The Black Badge Spectre Series II goes even further, becoming the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever created – a title previously held by the Series I version. In its Infinity Mode it delivers 671 bhp, while Spirited Mode can call up as much as 1,100 Nm of torque. The Rolls-Royce Spectre II boasts more power and more range than before – up to 390 miles (Rolls-Royce)That should be enough to move even the most relaxed Rolls-Royce owner quite briskly, although Rolls-Royce is keen to point out the Spectre’s big appeal is still very much silence, ease and waftiness rather than shouty performance car behaviour. The Spectre has been a huge success story for Rolls-Royce and the company says it was the second best-selling Rolls-Royce globally in 2025 behind the Cullinan SUV – that’s quite a result for an electric two-door super-luxury coupé. Chief Executive Chris Brownridge said: “Spectre is a landmark motor car for Rolls-Royce – conceived by our engineers, designers and craftspeople, informed by our clients and acclaimed the world over. It amplifies the qualities our clients value most: silence, effortlessness and abundant power, confirming that Rolls-Royce is perfectly suited to electrification. The inside of Spectre II features even more exquisite detailing, plus more personalisation options (Rolls-Royce)“This motor car’s extraordinary reception around the world has also established Spectre as one of the most compelling canvases for Bespoke in our contemporary product portfolio, inspiring clients to pursue ever more individual and ambitious commissions. “With Spectre Series II, we extend those possibilities even further. This refinement of a modern masterpiece is made in the spirit of our co-founder, Sir Henry Royce who said: ‘Small things make perfection, but perfection is no small thing.’”As a little insight into the rarified world of Rolls-Royce ownership, the company said a Spectre is typically the owner’s second Rolls-Royce in a seven-car garage, and the average Spectre covers around 4,000 miles a year, which the company says is in line with other two-door models such as Wraith, Dawn and Phantom Coupé.However, the brand says some owners are using their Spectre more often than expected. One European client has covered more than 30,000 miles in two years, while a Los Angeles collector apparently enjoys the fact that a short downhill drive from home to his garage can put range back into the battery through regenerative braking. Visually, Spectre Series II keeps the same long, smooth fastback shape, split headlight design and clean surfacing as before. The main exterior changes are more about detail than drama. There is a new solid paint colour called Ethereal Blue, plus a new 23-inch forged alloy wheel with a sharply faceted multi-spoke design. Rolls-Royce says each wheel can take up to six hours to hand-finish.Black Badge Spectre Series II gets its own new look, including Iced Black exterior detailing. That gives much of the usual brightwork a matte finish, including the grille surround, sideframe finishers, bumper inserts, door handles, Spirit of Ecstasy and the ‘Double R’ badge surround. The Pantheon Grille vanes stay polished, though, because even the moody one still needs to look like a Rolls-Royce.The Spectre Series II Black Badge gets Iced Black exterior detailing but the Pantheon Grille vanes stay polished and illuminated. (Rolls-Royce)Inside, the main story is the expansion of Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke offering. Spectre has apparently become one of the company’s most popular cars for personalisation, beaten only by the Phantom, with some customers asking for more than 20 individual Bespoke elements in a single car.The new options include Duality Twill, a rayon fabric made from bamboo and now offered on Spectre for the first time. It was inspired by a bamboo grove on the Côte d’Azur near Sir Henry Royce’s former winter home, Villa Mimosa. A Duality Twill interior can include up to 2.6 million stitches and 10 miles of thread, and can take up to 25 hours to make. Customers can choose from more than 50 thread colours. There is also a new Placed Perforation leather option, where tiny precision-cut holes create a pattern across the seats. The first design is inspired by clouds in moonlight and uses 78,138 perforations in three sizes: 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm and 1.2 mm.The Rolls-Royce Spectre has been a huge success for the BMW-owned British brand and is its second best seller (Rolls-Royce)Then there is a new high-gloss Brindled Walnut veneer, made using walnut from non-fruiting trees and residual eucalyptus fibres from fine paper production. Rolls-Royce says the end result has a ‘tiger stripe’ pattern, with glass flakes in the lacquer to add shimmer and depth. The dashboard has been given some theatre as well. A new Illuminated Fascia stretches across the cabin with a wave pattern made from 8,108 individual pixel-like lights. There is also a new clock inspired by aviation instruments, set within a cabinet that includes an up-lit Spirit of Ecstasy figure made from solid stainless steel.Domagoj Dukec, Director of Design at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said: “Spectre has consistently been recognised as one of the most elegant automotive forms of the modern era. Clients frequently cite its design as one of the defining reasons for their commission, and it will undoubtedly take its place in future collections of remarkable motor cars. In expanding the palette of materials and crafts introduced for Spectre Series II, we respond directly to our clients’ desire to approach Spectre with even more creative ambition, as they explore its possibilities as a canvas on which to tell their story.”Rolls-Royce has not announced prices yet, although with Spectre already sitting firmly in the super-luxury world, Series II is unlikely to be troubled by anything as ordinary as affordability. The point here is how the Series II is a longer-legged, quicker-charging and more powerful Spectre, wrapped in even more ways for customers to make it their own.
