Liam Neeson has become one of the most prominent names in the thriller genre. The Northern Irish actor has starred in more than a dozen action-thriller films, including 2014’s “A Walk Among the Tombstones.” Based on the novel by Lawrence Block, this one ranks among Neeson’s strongest efforts, giving the actor a meaty character to dig into, and its neo-noir style helps it stand apart from some of his blander action-thriller projects.Matt Scudder (Neeson) is a retired NYPD detective, now working as a private investigator, and attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings to help battle his demons. When he’s approached by a wealthy drug dealer (Dan Stevens), he’s hired for a twisting case. The dealer’s wife was kidnapped, and despite the requested ransom being paid, she was still brutally murdered. He wants her killers found and brought to justice. As Scudder investigates the killing, he sinks into New York’s criminal underworld and also encounters Ray (David Harbour), a sadistic criminal.Watch "A Walk Among the Tombstones" on Prime Video now‘Mad Max’ (1979)
