The vehicle driven by the suspects in KwaMsane, KwaZulu-Natal, which was intercepted by police after a high-speed chase along the N2, ending in a deadly shootout that left two suspects dead and one injured.
Two suspected armed robbers were shot and fatally wounded, while a third suspect was initially declared dead before later being found alive and injured, during a violent shootout with police in KwaMsane, KwaZulu-Natal, just after midnight on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said officers from Hluhluwe responded swiftly after a robbery victim reported being attacked by armed suspects.
“Police in Hluhluwe received a report from a man who was robbed by armed suspects in the Hluhluwe policing area,” Netshiunda said.
“Police responded swiftly, and the vehicle, which matched the description as relayed by the victim, was spotted driving along the N2 southbound.”
