Courtesy of Ministry of Foreign AffairsForeign Minister Cho Hyun is scheduled to meet with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, this week to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international issues, Seoul's foreign ministry said Tuesday.The two sides will hold talks Thursday to review progress on follow-up measures from the summit between Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held in November, and to discuss bilateral and other key issues, it added.The visit will mark the first trip by a Turkish foreign minister to Korea in five years, according to the ministry.Separately, First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoon-joo will hold talks with New Zealand Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade Bede Corry on Thursday.The two sides are expected to hold in-depth discussions on economic security and defense cooperation as well as regional and international affairs, the ministry said.The two nations elevated their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership during a summit held on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit last year.
