The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) is expected to address a broad range of strategic national priorities and internal organisational reforms during its national policy conference next month.

While the branches of the MK Party are likely to be involved and participate in the upcoming policy conference, the party’s members of Parliament (MPs) were excluded from the invitation list.

This is according to sources who said the MPs have called on the party's Chief Whip, Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi, to request that they be invited to the policy conference.

The party is expected to hold its first national policy conference at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference from July 3 to 5.

This gathering comes amid intense political pressure to define clear policies, mounting internal leadership challenges, and urgent preparations for the upcoming local government elections in November.
