Tuesday, 02 Jun 2026 11:51 AM MYT KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 — Malaysia has expressed utter condemnation for the latest storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by illegal Zionist Israeli settlers, including the raising of the Zionist Israeli flag within the holy compound. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry said any attempt at the Judaisation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque was abhorrent and a desecration of the holy site. The ministry, also known as Wisma Putra, said the recent action by the settlers, supported by the Zionist Israeli regime, is an attempt to change the reality on the ground as well as the cultural and historical characteristics of the Holy Al Aqsa.“Such actions are provocative and unacceptable, disregarding the custodial role over Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem.“The international community must not remain silent while hostility and aggression are taking place in plain sight,” it said.Malaysia reiterated its calls for the international community and the United Nations (UN) to take immediate and concrete action to halt these violations and ensure full accountability of the Zionist Israeli regime.Malaysia also reiterated its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and reaffirmed its longstanding support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. — Bernama
