Singer-rapper Psy has been referred to prosecutors on suspicions of receiving prescription psychotropic drugs through third parties without in-person hospital visits, police said Tuesday.

The singer, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, is accused of receiving prescriptions for the psychotropic drugs Xanax and Stilnox from a university hospital in Seoul, without seeing a doctor, from 2022 until 2025.

The drugs were then allegedly collected by his manager and other third parties.

The Seoul Seodaemun Police Station said it referred a total six people, including Psy, his manager and the doctor who prescribed the drugs, to the prosecution Friday on suspicions of violating the medical law.
