The Ekiti State Police Command has dismissed a viral report claiming that a bus carrying passengers from Ado-Ekiti was hijacked along the Aramoko-Ekiti road on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
The command’s dismissal came less than 24 hours after claims circulated on social media that a certain number of travellers were abducted in Aramoko.
While reacting to the viral claim in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, on Monday, the command described the report as false and misleading, warning those spreading such information to stop or face legal action.
“The attention of the Ekiti State Police Command has been drawn to distressing information circulating on social media that a full bus conveying passengers from Ado-Ekiti was kidnapped along the Aramoko-Ekiti road on 31st May, 2026.
