EastEnders fans were left shocked and horrified as tragedy struck at the end of Monday night's episode and Chelsea's four-year-old son was revealed to have been involved in a tragic accident20:59, 01 Jun 2026EastEnders fans were left shocked and horrified as tragedy struck at the end of Monday night's episode. This week's run of the BBC soap follows a slightly different format billed as The Night That Changes Everything, and is exploring the same day over and over again from various points of view of the Walford residents.‌Everything is based around the wedding of Vicki Fowler and Ross Marshall, which was already intense thanks to the fact the bride had been having an affair with the best man.‌Completely unaware that her mum Denise (Diane Parish) had been diagnosed with cancer, Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) was already having quite the time of it when her four-year-old son Jordan, whom she has with imprisoned criminal Gray Atkins, was acting up and causing mischief at the wedding.‌She was already distracted after Mark and Zack started to fight over her at the ceremony, and dragged best man Zack outside in a bid to calm the situation down. She and Mark were just about to kiss when Jordan raced onto the scene, infuriating Chelsea because she thought he was being looked after by Josh.‌She said: "You need to go inside please," and when he asked to go home, she said: "Stop whining, you are driving me mad. Go away, go on!" A short time later, Ian Beale was in his car trying to reverse but was distracted when mum Kathy kept fiddling with the radio station. He hit something but assumed it was a wheelie bin and drove off.Just before the credits rolled, viewers saw Jordan lying lifeless on the ground and rushed to share their reactions as many blamed Chelsea for the way she spoke to Jordan, and predicted that she herself will pass the blame onto others in the coming episodes.‌One wrote on X: "chelsea was so horrible to him all because he was getting in the way of her life…." Another said: "But if Jordan dies? I am going to riot plus Ian shouldn’t have had even a sip if he was driving," whilst a third wrote: "Did EastEnders just kill off a child? [shocked emoji]"A fourth wrote: "I usually love Chelsea but the way she treated Jordan today was vile! She literally neglected him and chose to have a good time as opposed to looking out for her son. Now Josh are going to get the blame when Jordan is Chelsea's responsibility in the first place. #EastEnders"Whatever happens with Jordan now - social services will be all over this. Chelsea should've asked Josh to take Jordan home. I mean why was he at the wedding reception in the first place when he's too young?"Article continues belowAnother raged: It was Chelsea's fault what happened to Jordan tbh. If she actually bothered to spend 5 minutes with him rather than preferring to get drunk and try get off with Zack and actually shouting at Jordan and telling him to go away was awful!"EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.* Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .
