iOS 27 will be introduced in just one week at WWDC. A new report today reveals another new feature set to come as part of the update: the ability for iPhone users to split bills in Apple Wallet using just a photo of a receipt.

iOS 27: More new features for Apple Wallet

According to Bloomberg, this iOS 27 feature will let users take a picture of a receipt, then assign items to different people. The feature will then be able to generate payment requests, allowing everyone to pay their portion of the bill.

This feature will reportedly be tied to Apple Cash, which is Apple’s peer-to-peer payment service similar to Venmo. Users will be able to find it in the Wallet app or the Messages app in iOS 27. It will also integrate with Apple Watch.

Apple Inc. is planning a new service for the iPhone that will let users split bills for group dinners or other events, expanding its push into everyday financial tools and challenging third-party apps.
