Sabrina Carpenter is requesting a restraining order for an alleged stalker.The "Man's Best Friend" singer, 27, obtained a protective order from a man who has she says has repeatedly shown up to her house despite multiple instances of police intervention and an arrest.Carpenter asked a Los Angeles court to grant the civil harassment restraining order Friday, May 29, against a man she claimed has been stalking her for over a month, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY.The filing revealed that the man's first attempt at direct contact with Carpenter occurred on May 23, when he allegedly showed up at her front door after "trespassing onto my neighbor's property to circumvent and breach the security fencing protecting my home.""It is clear to me that his approach was deliberate, calculated and aggressive, which is deeply alarming," she wrote.He allegedly began "actively trying to force his way inside my home without any invitation, permission, or consent whatsoever," the artist said. When it didn't open, the man allegedly knocked on the door and rang the doorbell before a member of Carpenter's security team removed him from the property.Carpenter said in the court documents that the man allegedly refused to leave and "fabricated the outrageous and entirely false claim that he personally knew me and that I was expecting him." He "continued to resist" until the Los Angeles Police Department came and arrested him.USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Carpenter and the LAPD for comment.Alleged Sabrina Carpenter stalker returns to her home less than 24 hours after being arrestedHe allegedly "loitered in the immediate vicinity" for two hours in his car, "watching and waiting," per the docs. Carpenter's security then made contact with the man when he drove closer to the driveway "in a clear act of further surveillance and harassment," and he left.On May 25, the man went back to Carpenter's property for the third day in a row, and the LAPD responded to the scene again. According to Carpenter's declaration, her private security team discovered upon further investigation that the man had been stalking her since "at least approximately April 20."Carpenter stated that the man behaved in a manner that showed "a clear and deeply troubling escalation pattern, as he has progressively moved closer and closer to my home, ultimately culminating in the violent and aggressive trespass of May 23."A judge granted Carpenter a temporary restraining order while she awaits upcoming proceedingsThe musician also filed for protection for her sister Sarah and her sister's significant other George, explaining the incidents have "caused me significant and ongoing fear for my personal safety and the safety of all individuals residing in my home.""His act of physically attempting to open and enter my front door, without invitation, consent, or any lawful basis is among the most disturbing violations of personal safety and privacy I have ever experienced," Carpenter said.She added: "His delusional insistence that he knows me and was expected by me is indicative of a dangerous, delusional, and irrational fixation on me. His pattern of stalking, trespassing, and surveillance has caused me severe and ongoing emotional distress, and I am in fear what he may do if he is not restrained by this Court."The filing includes images of the man on Carpenter's property captured on her doorbell camera footage. A member of the LAPD Threat Management Unit and two members of Carpenter's private security team submitted declarations in support of her request as well.Carpenter, Sarah and George have received a TRO and a hearing later this month will determine if a permanent order will be implemented.
