Florida Republican Attorney General James Uthmeier filed a lawsuit on Monday against OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman, alleging that the AI startup’s ChatGPT is unsafe.

The suit contends that ChatGPT has provided assistance for mass shootings, and poses addiction and suicide risks to users. The suit seeks civil penalties for alleged violations of unfair trade practice, product liability, public nuisance and negligence laws.
