Lex Luthor is not messing around in the “Superman” sequel.

Director James Gunn has revealed a first look at the villain’s iconic warsuit, worn by star Nicholas Hoult as production on the “Man of Tomorrow” sequel is underway.

“Fit check. Live from the set of ‘Man of Tomorrow,'” Gunn wrote in the caption.

In the DC comics, Lex Luthor builds several ultra-powerful, weaponized suits of armor to level the playing field with Superman. They give him superhuman strength, flight, force fields and a range of other powers. Based on the photo, it appears Lex won’t stay in prison for long and potentially travels to a sandy planet in outer space.

Gunn returns to the director’s chair in his DC sequel, which will put Hoult’s villain and David Corenswet’s Man of Steel against intergalactic foe Brainiac (Lars Eidinger). Superman is forced to team up with his greatest nemesis to defeat the super-smart cyborg in “Man of Tomorrow,” due in theaters on July 9, 2027.
