MANILA, Philippines – Marikina Rep. Miro Quimbo on Monday recommended a joint congressional caucus between the Senate and the House of Representatives to fast-track the approval of bills identified as priorities by the Marcos administration.

In a media briefing, Quimbo said lawmakers could push priority bills more quickly through the legislative mill if congressional leaders had a mechanism to meet regularly and resolve potential bottlenecks.

“Based on my experience during Speaker [Feliciano] Belmonte’s time, we were able to pass more measures because we had a formal structure, the joint legislative leadership caucus,” he said in Filipino.
