The recently concluded Kodaikanal Summer festival, 2026, and 63rd Flower Show held at Bryant Park attracted people from far and near. Around 85,000 tourists visited the events.According to a statement, Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan inaugurated the 12-day flower show on May 20. The event concluded on May 31. A large number of tourists from far and near visit Kodaikanal during the summer to enjoy its scenic beauty.To entertain the massive influx of tourists and showcase the rich art and culture of Tamil Nadu, the Flower Show and Summer Festival is organised every year. The highlight of this year’s flower show was the floral arrangements showcasing Tamil Nadu’s rich tradition, culture, and natural beauty. These included Pamban bridge, Jallikattu, and Brihadeeswarar temple.Vegetable carvings highlighting the specialties of Dindigul district were also on display. These included Slender Loris, Chinnalapatti Sungudi saris, Nilakottai Jasmine flowers, and Dindigul Biryani. Tourists, particularly children, were captivated by a butterfly-themed entrance arch.During the 10-day Summer Festival, traditional and cultural events, sports competitions, traditional martial arts and other programmes were organised to entertain the tourists.Kodaikanal Municipality provided basic amenities for the convenience of the tourists, including drinking water and mobile toilets. A 24-hour control room had also been established for the welfare and the convenience of touristsDindigul Collector S. Saravanan said there was growth in tourism this year when compared to last year. Last year, around 45,000 tourists visited the flower show while this year it was around 85,000. The total number of tourists who visited Kodaikanal last year during the month of May was 1.08 lakh while this year it was 1.27 lakh.
