A public prosecutor attached to the City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹5,000 from a complainant on Monday.The accused, Savitha Naveen Patil, 55, serving as a public prosecutor in Bengaluru, was allegedly demanding a bribe to submit objections in a case registered at the Chennamanakere Achukattu Police Station.The complainant, Manjunath, 40, a resident of Banashankari, approached the Lokayukta, alleging that the prosecutor had demanded ₹5,000 to carry out the official work.Based on the complaint, the Lokayukta Police registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
