The Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH) and Kia India Pvt. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Advanced Prototyping and Innovation Centre (APIC Labs) at the RTIH Amaravati Hub.The agreement was signed on Monday by Dhatri Reddy, Group CEO of RTIH, and senior representatives of Kia India, including Tae Hyun Kim, Chief Administrative Officer, Jungho An, Senior Advisor for Legal, Compliance, Corporate Affairs, CSR and PR, and T. Somasekhara Reddy, Principal Advisor.The proposed APIC Labs will provide innovators, startups and entrepreneurs access to advanced prototyping equipment, product testing facilities and industry-grade manufacturing infrastructure, helping them transform ideas into market-ready products.According to RTIH, the centre will focus on emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, electronics, embedded systems, smart manufacturing, mobility technologies and industrial automation. It is expected to accelerate product development, promote entrepreneurship and support the growth of technology-based startups in Andhra Pradesh.Officials said the collaboration reflects RTIH’s efforts to build a robust innovation ecosystem through partnerships among government, industry and academia. The facility is expected to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position as a hub for deep-tech innovation and advanced manufacturing while supporting the development of globally competitive products and enterprises.
