To manage the increased passenger crowd during the summer holiday season, the Indian Railway has announced the operation of special trains between Tiruvananthapuram North and Podanur Junction via Pollachi Junction.Train No. 06079 Tiruvananthapuram North - Podanur Junction Special Express will depart Tiruvananthapuram North at 1.00 p.m. on June 3 and June 7 and arrive at Podanur Junction at 06.45 a.m. on the following day.Similarly, Train No. 06080 Podanur Junction–Tiruvananthapuram North Special Express will depart Podanur Junction at 5.00 p.m. on June 4 and June 11 (Thursdays) and arrive Tiruvananthapuram North at 7.15 a.m. the next day.In the Palakkad Division, Tiruvananthapuram North - Podanur Junction Special Express (Train No. 06079) will arrive at Pollachi Junction at 5.15 a.m. and depart at 5.20 a.m., while Podanur Junction - Tiruvananthapuram North Special Express (Train No. 06080) will arrive at Pollachi Junction at 5.50 p.m. and depart at 5.55 p.m. The trains will halt at Varkala, Kollam Junction, Kottarakkara, Punalur, Sengottai, Tenkasi Junction, Kadayanallur, Sankarankovil, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputtur, Sivakasi, Virudunagar Junction, Madurai Junction, Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul Junction, Oddanchatram, Palani, Udumalaippettai and Pollachi Junction.
