June 1 (UPI) -- Christian Pulisic snapped a five-month scoring drought in a United States win over Senegal, leading the forward to address critics after the friendly.

Pulisic found the net in the 20th minute of the 3-2 triumph Sunday in Charlotte, N.C. The score was his first for the Americans since 2024.

"It's just great to score again," Pulisic said on the TNT broadcast. Hopefully people can stop talking about it. I feel great. I'm really proud of the performance the guys put in.

"Just to be a part of it felt really good."
