DUBAI: The 86th annual Peabody Awards on Sunday night in Beverly Hills brought together some of the biggest names in television, journalism and digital media to celebrate storytelling with cultural and social impact.
Yara Shahidi, who has an Iranian father and African-American mother, walked the red carpet ahead of the event in a Loewe dress. She was joined by celebrities including Jimmy Kimmel, Rhea Seehorn, Nathan Fielder, Ike Barinholtz and Halle Bailey.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by American-Palestinian comedian and actor Mo Amer, known for the Netflix series “Mo.” Special honorees included Amy Poehler, who received the Career Achievement Award, while screenwriter Sterlin Harjo was presented with the Trailblazer Award.
Among the night’s major winners were “Andor,” “The Pitt,” “Adolescence” and “Pluribus” in the entertainment categories. Documentary winners included “No Other Land,” a film by a Palestinian-Israeli collective that shows the destruction of the occupied West Bank’s Masafer Yatta region.
