Jamie Laing was forced into a swift video re-edit after coming in for criticism after he captured wife Sophie Habboo cradling their son, Ziggy, in the backseat of a car without wearing a seatbelt09:32, 01 Jun 2026Updated 09:35, 01 Jun 2026Jamie Laing left his followers enraged after sharing a clip of wife Sophie Habboo appearing to hold their young son in the back of a car, while reportedly not wearing a seatbelt. The 37-year-old Made In Chelsea star posted a montage, marking six months since infant Ziggy's arrival. But after the couple came under fire over the lack of seatbelt, Jamie re-edited the tribute to his family and removed the footage of Sophie cradling their son.In the UK, children under the age of 12 or under the height of 135 cm tall must be secured in an approved car seat with an internal harness. But if travelling in a taxi, rules states: "If the driver does not provide the correct child car seat, children can travel without one - but only if they travel on a rear seat."Jamie, 37, and Sophie, 31, are utterly smitten with baby Ziggy and, despite being public figures themselves, are determined to shield their little one. Sophie revealed she "really toyed" with how much of their child she would share online and admitted they're "still working it out".However, fans were less than impressed with the footage, which was swiftly removed, and quickly shared their fury online. One posted: '"Nice to see you have removed the irresponsible clip with Sophie holding the baby in the car, without a carseat or even her seatbelt on. It would be wise to address the elephant in the room and maybe admit you have been irresponsible and will take more care going forward... I really hope you do, as no baby or child deserves to die in a crash."Another second fan commented on the re-edit: "I'm so thankful you posted the original unedited video before this. I'm hoping it made you realise how utterly irresponsible you have been. Your baby has no voice to question you when you travel without a baby seat OR a seatbelt."The pair met on E4's reality smash hit, Made In Chelsea, before going on to bag coveted hosting gigs on the Radio One presenting team. After dating for several years, Jamie got down on one knee at the swanky Rosewood London hotel in December 2021 - where he and Sophie shared their first ever date - and popped the question.Jamie and Sophie are filming for their new Disney reality show, Raising Chelsea - which promises to be a “no-holds-barred whirlwind journey of the next chapter”.But away from the cameras, insiders said the pressure of filming has “taken a toll” on the pair – particularly Sophie, who "has been forced to be camera-ready so soon" - leaving their family worried.A source told The Sun : “Sophie and Jamie actually had a really difficult time filming. They didn’t really expect it to be as much pressure as it was, and part of them wishes they had never agreed to do it. It’s never easy for first-time parents, and the added stress of being filmed was much harder than they ever thought. It’s not like filming Made in Chelsea."Insiders say their families were "concerned" about the amount of work they'd taken on. But while it's "taken a toll", the couple are said to be pleased with the final outcome of the show.Article continues belowThe Mirror has reached out to Jamie's reps for comment.Like this story?
