State-run Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) on Monday started to waive fees on select online government payments — including school fees and bill payments — via QRPh as it seeks to make banking transactions more affordable. In an advisory, LandBank said the zero-fee policy for person-to-government transactions via QRPh will run from Monday, June 1, 2026, until December 31, 2026. The waiver covers payments made through LandBank’s Link.BizPortal and QRPH standees at select government institutions and agencies.Eligible payments include fees to institutions such as national government agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs), local government units (LGUs), water districts, and state universities and colleges (SUCs).This includes payments for police clearance, real property taxes, business permits, apostille certificates, and other dues.“LandBank is waiving fees for online government payments to make services more accessible, while bringing more Filipinos into the digital financial ecosystem,” LandBank president and chief executive officer Lynette Ortiz said in a statement.“This supports our broader goal of advancing financial inclusion and delivering services that are more responsive to the needs of the public,” she added. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in 2023 mandated the full adoption of the Philippine QR Code standard or QRPh in 2023, based on the Europay-Mastercard-VISA (EMV) standard.LandBank last month lowered its InstaPay transfer fees for person-to-person transactions to P8 from P15, while offering one free daily transfer for transactions worth P1,000 and below. —AOL, GMA News
