Indian electric bus manufacturer Olectra Greentech Limited has deployed 60 electric buses in Hyderabad. Evey Trans Private Limited is likely operating them on a Gross Cost Contract (GCC) basis, similar to the previous fleet of 65 units deployed in December 2025.Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, TGSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy, and other public representatives flagged off the new electric buses at the Kukatpally depot on 27 May.Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), the parent company of Olectra Greentech Limited and Evey Trans Private Limited, says the latest induction increases TGSRTC’s electric bus fleet to 500 units. According to a report from The Hans India, 450 of the 500 buses are non-AC units, while the remaining 50 are AC units.The 60 new electric buses are Olectra Greentech Limited’s X2 model, which measures 12 metres in length, 2.5 metres in width and 3.3 metres in height, and has a 400 mm floor height. The company can equip the model with up to 39 seats, and footage shared from the flag-off ceremony suggests Olectra has opted for a different layout with around 30 seats for TGSRTC’s order.The X2 features a 180 kW motor powered by an LFP battery pack that can deliver a range of up to 300 kilometres. Olectra Greentech Limited equips the bus with front and rear air suspension for improved passenger comfort and a kneeling mechanism to ease ingress and egress.MEIL says that the 440 electric buses already in operation carried nearly 100,000 passengers daily.
