Explosion at Hanwha Aerospace plant, 5 killed and 2 injuredFive people were killed and two people are injured in a explosion at Hanwha Aerospace plant the defence company, in the city of Daejeon in South Korea, officials have said.According to firefighting authorities, explosion occurred at 10:59 a.m. on 1st June. Witnesses reported on 119 about the explosion. Authorities issued Level 1 response and deployed 44 units of equipment and over 100 firefighters to the explosion site.Local medical officials Kim Ju-yeon said one of the two injured people was in a critical condition. She said authorities haven't yet identified the dead people.According to the police and firefighting authorities, explosion happened because of propulsion device located on the first floor of the factory.The Daejeon site of explosion is responsible for the research, production, and development of tactical weapons and large propulsion devices for Hanwha Aerospace. The site is key facilities where it develops large-sized propellants and surface-to-surface weapons systems.Emergency official Yoon Seong-su said that the area is a government-designated security facility.Whereas South Korean prime minister Kim Min-seok has ordered for full mobilisation of equipment and rescue, official said.Minister of the Interior and Safety Yun Ho-jung said, “Mobilize all available equipment and personnel to focus all efforts on rescuing lives and extinguishing the fire.” Yun also added “Please do your best to prevent any safety accidents among firefighters during the fire suppression and rescue process,” and “The police should ensure thorough control around the fire scene.”"Authorities have yet to identify ​the victims because their bodies were severely damaged," a health official told the same briefing.
